Safety Policy
Safety is the foundation of the Altralo platform. This policy sets the standards we require of all participants — drivers, riders, and shippers — and describes the tools and procedures we use to maintain a safe marketplace. In any emergency, always call 911 first.
1Our Commitment to Safety
Altralo is committed to creating a marketplace where every interaction is safe, respectful, and reliable. We achieve this through:
- Comprehensive background checks for all drivers before activation.
- Ongoing monitoring of driving records and criminal databases.
- In-app safety tools for both riders and drivers.
- A zero-tolerance policy for violence, harassment, and discrimination.
- Dedicated safety response teams available around the clock.
2Driver Safety Standards
All drivers on the platform must adhere to the following safety standards at all times:
- Never drive while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any substance that affects your driving ability.
- Never use a handheld phone while driving. Use hands-free mode for navigation only.
- Obey all traffic laws, speed limits, and road markings.
- Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts before departing.
- Do not drive while fatigued. Take regular breaks during long shifts.
- Maintain a clean, well-functioning vehicle with working safety features (lights, brakes, tires).
- Never share your login credentials with another person.
3Rider Safety
Before entering a vehicle, always verify:
- The license plate matches what is shown in the app.
- The driver's face matches the photo in the app.
- Ask the driver "Who are you picking up?" — do not tell them your name first.
During the ride:
- Wear your seatbelt at all times.
- Share your trip status with a trusted contact using the in-app Share Trip feature.
- Sit in the back seat when riding alone.
- Trust your instincts — if you feel unsafe, use the in-app emergency button or call 911.
4Background Checks
Every driver undergoes a multi-level screening process:
- Criminal history: National, federal, and county-level checks going back 7 years.
- Sex offender registry: National and state-level registry screening.
- Driving record: Review of moving violations, accidents, and license suspensions for the past 3 years.
- Identity verification: Government-issued ID matched against facial recognition.
- Annual re-screening: Continuous monitoring flags new convictions or violations in real time.
Disqualifying offenses include: DUI/DWI (7-year lookback), violent crimes, sexual offenses, and felony drug convictions.
5In-App Safety Features
- Emergency SOS button: Instantly connects to 911 and shares your real-time location with emergency services.
- Trip sharing: Share your live route and ETA with any contact via SMS or app link.
- Driver ID verification: Photo, license plate, and vehicle info visible before entering.
- Route monitoring: Significant deviations from the expected route trigger an automatic safety check.
- 24/7 incident response: In-app safety reporting connected to our Safety Response Team.
- Anonymous feedback: Report safety concerns without the driver knowing who reported.
6Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account deactivation:
- Physical or verbal assault or threats against any user.
- Sexual harassment, misconduct, or any non-consensual contact.
- Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin.
- Impaired driving (alcohol, drugs, or medication).
- Unauthorized recording of riders or drivers.
- Sharing another user's personal information.
- Fraud, identity theft, or misrepresentation of identity.
- Possession of weapons in the vehicle (where prohibited by law).
7Incident Reporting
To report a safety incident:
- Ensure you are in a safe location first. Call 911 for emergencies.
- Open the app → Trip History → Select the trip → Report Safety Issue.
- Describe the incident in detail. Photos and any evidence can be uploaded.
- Our Safety Response Team will contact you within 2 hours.
- We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
Reports can also be submitted by email at safety@altralo.com or via the in-app Help Center.
8Zero-Tolerance Offenses

- Physical violence causing bodily injury.
